Mustard Big

Is there anything hard for God?
The common answer is nothing 
Should anything be hard for Gods children?
The honest answer is several things seem defiant

You can move mountain if you have faith...

Faith as small as the mustard seed...

This little can bring so mush...

Yet why so little proofs...

Persistence continued prayers...

Positive confessions in spite of contrary evidence… 
Obedience even when it doesn't make sense…

These are the difficult things to do

This are reasons why issues remain same
A mustard seed size of faith can move mountain
How do I know if my professed faith is sufficient?
What makes for this size of faith?

You determine if your faith will work
God doesn't lie, we can agree to 

You need to grow your trust size in God

This you will achieve by diligent study of scripture

Faith sees inner convictions

Faith knows the end from the beginning

Faith always win; Faith acts and speaks as God 

Faith is unshakable as God; Faith endures till the end

This is the faith of the mustard size
Never doubting, always trusting
Able to believe; doesn't critic or analyze 
It simply trusts the one who says

In the annals of faith, will your name be written

Will you taste and proof the God who never fails

For truly I say to you, if you have faith as much as is a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it shall move. Matthew 17:20

A Hundred Thousand...

A 100,000 sheep and wool from a 100,000 rams…
Is what a nation pays yearly to another nation
To achieve this target; many workers will be enrolled
This job they will do with little or no wage

King Mesha at some point couldn’t take this anymore
He can’t continue to build for another to inhabit
So he raised an army to fight off the task master
He was willing to do anything for freedom

When he noticed he will lose the battle…
(His opponent had the support of three nations)
He sacrificed his heir; The one to rule after him

There are some journey one must discontinue...
Trips that have no clear cut destination...
Going round in an unpleasant circle...
Sweating hard with nothing to show for effort...

Continued impoverishing by the same enemy...
Paying off a debt that’s never reducing...
Like Mesha its time to spit out the bitter pill
It’s time to end this torturous season

Jesus is our go to; the sure plug for victory
Is there an area of bitterness? don’t watch what you detest
Notice that until the King arose; nothing changed
The enemy never wants to lose any

I must not continue like this; there must be an out
End the unpleasant situation; Get up, give it your all 
Refuse to accept the slightest hint of bondage
Jesus triumph is our victory chant

Servant Help

He was an army general; but leprous…
He was a husband; but leprous…
He was probably a father; but was leprous…
He was well known; but leprous…
 

In plain language he was a leper
And lepers don’t get to become army chief
I doubt the possibility of marriage to a non-leper
But he seem to overcome the limits of his disability

However, no matter how prosperous he becomes
Leprosy seem to douse his accomplishments
He must have tried all possible to get better
Help will come; but not the way expected…

She was a servant girl who served Naaman's wife
She must have distinguished herself 
So when she advised to visit Elisha it was obeyed
What if the slave girl had been with them earlier?

The people I need Lord send them early
The sooner I get the helper of destiny the better
A common prayer with me is speed
The Lord is not slow concerning His promise

When he got to Elisha he expected better treatment
At least a welcome based on his pedigree
But the instruction came behind the door
And it was to go bathe in a dirty river seven times

He wanted to turn back in anger
Thankfully another servant spurred him on
He kept his gaze on what he sought
Not on the shame or inconvenience attached

We all need these precious helpers
They may not have big titles, be educated or exposed
They probably are within your reach

I pray you identify and heed their counsel

My Choice

I notice one of man’s undoing is disobedience
From the very beginning the problem crept in...
And it seems to still be a struggle 
The ways of God are plain enough

Chose a side He announces

He then state the consequence of each
Adam knew why he shouldn’t eat from the tree
He disobeyed and got sent out of Eden

Despite how often Moses spoke about God to Israel
They walked often in unbelief and disobedience
Milk and Honey was the offing...
Obey and serve the Lord was the condition

Yet, very few accessed this good blessing from the Lord

This so called simple obedience; is not as simple

Its amazing how we humans can be

Lets note...God does not respect any man

By following His instructions

We will arrive at our destinations

Man simply has issues with Gods time

So to set things off; we walk contrary to His commands

How many have ended in a wrong marriage...

How many have relocated in error

How many have rebuffed this simple instruction...

In all your ways acknowledge Him and let Him guide you

I have heard enough tales of mans disobedience

I have seen it spill out to innocent families

My appeal is so simple... Trust and obey God

Men in Sizes

He just wanted a glimpse of the Messiah 
But his limited height prevented him
So he ran ahead and climbed a tree
Knowing Jesus will pass the very route 

He never knew his day will get better

As Jesus got to the tree he stopped and looked up
Zacchaeus just had his desire fulfilled 
But surprisingly he heard his name called 

He did what no one did and got recognized
While his size prevented him to see
He choose not to give in to his disability 
He did what could help his course 

What can I do to attract God's attention?

Knowing just a gaze from Him can sort me out
Solomon will give a thousand offering
Bartimaeus won't stop shouting for mercy

Hannah will not give up praying
Jacob will duel with God till a name change 
I am tired of the valley you say 
Yet you lament only, you complain perhaps

I want my own babies
Yet you haven't done what Hannah did 
If God is the only alternative 
It's better you read Luke 18...

The woman that kept disturbing the unjust judge
If prayer is the only route
I advise you separate yourself and pray
Efforts is required 

If Zacchaeus stayed back I won't have a tale to narrate 
You will get a royal visit 
The Lord will pick you out for glory

Seeking Help

A widow will lose her two sons…
Because the late husband left them in debt
She reached out to Elisha and quickly help came.
How come the husband never thought to do same…

Especially working so close with the prophet 2Kings 4:1
He could easily have accessed the anointed
Rather; he chose to patronize loan sharks…
If not for divine assistance, his boys will end up as slaves

Many things go on in a marriage 
But its better if we learn to walk as one
The woman’s choice of seeking help
Is clearly different from the path the man chose

My mind roams to Peter who needed to pay taxes
He approached Jesus who guided him to a miracle
The woman with the issue of blood
Will not joke with close proximity

While others thronged for views or what else
She moved in with deliberateness
She had her answers; 12 years burden vanished
I can’t be close to fire and keep complaining of cold

I can’t be a child of God and live in bondage
I can’t be a child of God and lack daily needs
I can’t keep starring at ashes that can be made beautiful
Let’s embrace our advantage as believers

Closely he observed Elisha perform divers miracle

He watched as several people receive help 

He chose to be silent about his own challenges

He died a righteous but broke prophet

Our privileges' as Christians gives us a right of access

We don't need an intermediary to access God

But if we chose the path of this prophet

We will likely get his exact results...

No Gifts

If I'm asked what I need; I will bring out a long list…
Elisha wanting to return a favor, asked same of a woman
I have no need... she responded... 
He then went ahead to fill in the gaps...

Do I speak to the king for you? No she responded 

Or speak to the Army chief? Don’t bother she replied
Elisha prodded further from Gehazi his servant... 
What can I do to help her?

She has no son, was His swift answer…

To a barren woman, the cry of a child should be loud 
Especially if the call is from a Prophet like Elisha
I pondered on this a while...
  

What will make any woman say no to blessings?
Could it be because of past hurt or experiences...

Her present age or her spouse perhaps...
I then asked myself'; can I say no in a similar situation
 
As I reflected on this... it became clearer...
God can do all things is a known fact; but not this...

There are certain things we have accepted as fate

We choose an unpleasant statuesque rather than aim high

Like her; we have become comfortable with some issues...

Bring out the ashes, let it be replaced with beauty

It’s a good time to embrace Gods help...

Especially in areas we have tagged impossible

I will rather keep pushing for a needed change

Than accept an unpleasing fate

I see God intervening, but I pray you to believe again
However, let your good deeds speak for you
